Problem :

CoralWatch needed engaging visual material to help communicate reef health and biodiversity in a way that was clear, memorable, and accessible to a wide audience. Existing resources were scientific but lacked the visual appeal needed to capture attention and spark curiosity.

Solution :

I created a series of detailed marine illustrations featuring key ocean species used in CoralWatch outreach. The artwork focused on bold colour, clean vector detail, and expressive character, helping transform scientific content into visuals that invite interest and support learning.

Challenge :

The biggest challenge was balancing scientific accuracy with an illustrative style that feels warm and approachable. Each species needed to remain recognisable while still fitting within a cohesive visual style that worked across multiple formats, from digital screens to printed materials.

Summary :

This project delivered a polished set of sea life illustrations that strengthen CoralWatch’s educational efforts by making reef biodiversity more engaging and visually accessible. The final collection supports ambassadors in raising awareness, sparking conversation, and encouraging community involvement in reef conservation.
